Every Skylark quote starts with a free survey at your home. We look at the room, the spot where you want the light, and the roof above it, and then send a fixed written quote. The form at the foot of this page is the quickest way to arrange it.
The process
From the first visit to sign-off
Here is what happens once you send the form. Nothing is ordered until you have the written quote and have agreed to it.

We arrange a visit
We get in touch to agree a time that suits you for the survey.
We look at the spot
In the room, we mark where the light needs to land and measure the space.
We check the roof
From the loft or the roof, we check the structure, covering and access.
You get a fixed quote
A written quote sets out the rooflight, the work and the finish. The price holds.
We fit it
On the agreed date we form the opening, fit and weather the unit and finish inside.
Sign-off and guarantee
Building Control paperwork where notifiable, and your 10-year workmanship guarantee.
Before we visit
What helps us at the survey
- Think about where in the room you most want the light: the table, the desk, the stair.
- If there is a loft above, clear a path to the loft hatch so we can look at the roof timbers.
- If you have plans or drawings for an extension, have them to hand.
- If the house is listed or in a conservation area, tell us if you know, and we will check either way.
